Our Precious Gems is owned and operated by Christina Auer. Christina is dedicated to committing their time, knowledge, and skill to your child(ren). Our Precious Gems was purchased in November of 2005 from the previous owner, who operated as Pumpkin Patch Daycare. Christina Auer has her director’s credentials with experience in the healthcare industry. She has fulfilled the prerequisites for her bachelor’s degree in nursing at University of Louisville and attended Bellarmine University in the BSN program. Her experience in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Norton’s Suburban Hospital, has helped her to deal with parents on a one to one basis as well as learning to care for premature and sick infants at a very early age. She has had an involvement as an office manager in the dental field, which has guided her in an administrative role.
Our Precious Gems is committed to the belief that children are our most precious gifts. Our program is designed to develop the whole child through experiences that enrich each child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical and creative development. The center’s daily schedule creates opportunities for children to explore, learn problem solving and personal interaction skills and learn concepts from hands on experiences. Children develop self confidence and independence through self and teacher initiated activities. Our staff serves as positive, nurturing role models to meet each child’s individual needs. We respect that parents are the child’s first and most important provider of the child and we believe parents and teachers are partners in the child’s care and education.
Our Precious Gems is more than just a childcare and learning center. We strive to provide the utmost quality childcare that is available. At Our Precious Gems we take childcare and learning to the next level by developing structured curriculums, in a learning environment that is present from pre-k to school-agers. Each month, a detailed lesson plan is put together and is carried out each day in each room.
